Heartwood Chorus

Last year I had the absolute joy of recording an EP with the incredible Heartwood Chorus, Bristol’s 48 strong a cappella folk choir known for their rich harmonies and emotionally charged arrangements.

Last month, we launched the EP in spectacular style at The Mount Without – an awe-inspiring venue that feels like a forgotten cathedral reimagined as a creative sanctuary.

It was an unforgettable evening of music, candlelight, and community, with guest performances from Nick Hart, Bowker and Morse, Heaps Morris, and The Swanning Folk – all threading their sounds through a night led by Heartwood’s breathtaking voices.

The EP is now available on Bandcamp – take a listen here:

In the words of Bristol24/7:

“When all of these voices join together, incredible things happen. Deep bass hums settle beneath skipping, higher voices; baritones cradle sopranos, allowing them a solid platform to explore the furthest reaches… It’s just so, so beautiful.”

Huge credit to Neil Johnson for his masterful arrangements and vision, and to the whole Heartwood team for such an inspiring project. An absolute honour to be involved."
