COBRA Music Studios is a contemporary recording space, welcoming artists of all styles and genres. Based within the Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre in Newport, South Wales, our studio is just a 2-minute walk from Newport Bus Station and 6 minutes from Newport Train Station, with direct routes to Cardiff, Bristol, and London - plus convenient parking nearby.

Our control room blends the best of analogue and digital, using hybrid recording techniques to deliver warmth, clarity, and detail. At the centre of the room is our dual Slate Raven MTi system - a favourite talking point for many of our clients - alongside a wide range of audio gear and an impressive microphone collection.

The live room is designed as a versatile, intimate space that feels both inspiring and comfortable. With custom acoustic panels and gobos from Blue Frog Audio in North Wales, every session benefits from a balanced, natural sound. Adjustable ambient lighting sets the perfect atmosphere for recording, writing, or rehearsing. From November, the studio will also feature a Yamaha C3 Grand Piano and a full Gretsch drum kit with Sabian cymbals, giving musicians even more options to bring their sound to life without leaving the studio.

Every project is supported by our experienced team, who bring not only technical expertise but also the insight of skilled musicians. From solo artists to bands, choirs, and ensembles, we work closely with you to capture performances that feel authentic and vibrant, offering a recording experience that’s professional, collaborative, and enjoyable.
